“I’m not going anywhere until I know what’s happened to Conall.”

Cuinn turned, at this, and Josh worked not to flinch away from the intensity of his gaze. “You don’t have a fucking clue what we’re dealing with here. You are in no way equipped to deal with the Marfach, and trust me, the only option you have that’s going to keep you breathing long enough to get back together with your boyfriend and help him do what he has to do is get the hell out of here. Now. Because it’s coming. And if it can’t find your boyfriend, it’ll be perfectly happy to take you and settle in to wait for him.”

The Fae started for the door, apparently assuming Josh would follow. Josh didn’t. His jaw set, and the patterns on his arms twitched as the muscles under them jumped and bunched. “You might as well save your breath, hot pants. I’m staying right here.” Until I can take Conall with me, get him back to Purgatory.
